The League of Women Voters of the Bangor Area and the UU Society, Bangor, Social Justice Committee announce a forum for candidates for the five candidates running for 3 open seats on Bangor City Council.
It will be held on Thursday, October 6, in Council Chambers at Bangor City Hall at 7 pm. This will be an in-person event, with candidates and audience present in Council Chambers. The forum will be lived-streamed through city social media and broadcast on the city’s cable TV station.
The public may submit questions before the event through an email account available on the City’s website. All questions from the public, whether in person or in advance, must be written and will be read by the moderator.
In the City Council Candidates Forum, each candidate will be given two minutes for an introductory statement, then, each candidate will be given two minutes to answer this question: What do you think is the most pressing problem the city is currently facing and what do you think some viable solutions are? This will be followed by questions from the public. Candidates will be given one minute to answer each of the public’s questions. After the public questions, each candidate will be given two minutes for a closing statement.
This forum is a nonpartisan event designed to allow Bangor residents to learn more about the candidates in this election.
