The League of Women Voters of Maine is returning to the State House for Advocacy Day 2023! While we celebrate our 103 birthday, we want you to join us under the dome for a day of speakers, education, and action around strengthening our democracy.
Schedule:
Click here to view the schedule. In the morning, we will hear from speakers and have opportunities to engage your legislators. In the afternoon, we will have tea at the Blaine House and a panel discussion. Let us know your preferences for your attendance when you register.
I want to talk to my legislator about important issues, but it's my first time.
Lobbying your legislator for the first time can be a nerve wracking experience! We're happy to match you with a seasoned advocate who can assist you as you talk to your representatives.
Do I have to be a League member to attend?
No, you do not have to be a League member to attend, though we'd love to have you! Anyone and everyone are invited. Advocacy Day is a great way to get hands-on experience with lobbying your legislator.
Cost of attendance?
The cost of attending should not be a barrier to participation. Registration is a suggested donation of $10-25 per person paid to the LWVME Education Fund. This helps us to cover the costs of the event. If this poses a barrier to your attendance, please click the 'fee waiver' option.
Where can I park at the State House?
You can park at the State Office Building Parking Garage (located at 93 Sewall St). Parking is free and open to the public.
