Local Government Volunteer Kickoff

Local government, from towns to school boards to water districts, is essential to our lives in Maine. Unfortunately, many Mainers do not understand their local government and our local elections have consistently low turnout.

The League of Women Voters of Maine is working on several local government projects in 2024 in order to increase understanding and engagement with local government across our state. Join us on this volunteer kickoff to learn how you can contribute to these projects! We have volunteer roles to fit any time commitment or interest, from researching local elections to developing educational materials to facilitating workshops.
