Ideas for a Better Democracy from Maine and Away

Maine has led the nation in implementing polices that strengthen our democracy. How can Maine share what it's learned? How can we raise more awareness and curiosity about innovations in democracy? Learn how Maine is part of a global conversation about democracy. 

Anna Kellar, Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of Maine, has researched and worked on issues involving conflict resolution and anti-corruption in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Anna grew up in Maine before earning a BA in Political Science from Yale University and a Masters from the London School of Economics. From civic engagement to designing institutions to withstand polarization, Anna brings an international perspective to their work in Maine.

Camden Conference Community Events

Each year the Camden Conference partners with organizations like PPL to bring original programming to our community in addition to the conference itself, held in mid-coast Maine. This year marks the 38th year of the conference and the theme is: Democracy Under Threat: A Global Perspective.
