Happy National Voter Registration Day!

The League of Women Voters of Maine is gearing up for a very busy election season. Did you know that there'll be eight questions on the November ballot? And according to a recent poll, Maine voters don't know much about those eight questions. Voters deserve quality information, and you could help in a big way.

Vote411.org

Vote411.org is our online voter database. Users learn how to register and vote, see what will be on their ballot, and read candidate questionnaires and nonpartisan descriptions of ballot initiatives. We cover federal, state and local elections for every town in Maine, making Vote411.org a unique resource. When it launches in early October, we encourage you to share this resource with people in your networks.

Youth Voting Summit

Every year Maine Students Vote hosts the Youth Voting Summit where youth-led organizations come together to share their work, provide skill-building workshops, and connect with high schoolers and college students from across the state. Last year, this event brought together more than 15 different civic organizations that ran workshops, shared their resources, and networked with over 75 students. This year, the Summit takes places on October 6, 2023 at Kennebec Valley Community College.

Neighbor to Neighbor

Our Neighbor to Neighbor volunteers go door to door in their communities with low voter participation, low-income areas, and areas with a high proportion of immigrants. By holding conversations at the voter’s door, this project mixes the strategies of direct community building, education, and assistance. And we provide voter information available in 10 languages!
